Welcome to the Unitarian UniversalistChurch of Catawba Valley Our mission is to celebrate and witness love, justice, and mercy by facilitating spiritual enlightenment, welcoming differences, and embracing the interconnected web of life. We offer intergenerational spiritual nourishment and growth through our worship services and religious education programs. After our Sunday service visitors and members are invited to become better acquainted over coffee and refreshments. Visitors are encouraged to sign our guest book.
Special events in July Memorial Service for Lynette Riddle UUCCV will hold a memorial service on Saturday afternoon, July 10, at 2:00 p.m., for long-time member Lynette Riddle, who died suddenly on June 21. Lynette was a founding member of our choir and served as Vice President of the Congregation and Program chair, much of it during a time when UUCCV had no minister. On occasion, Lynette would retrieve a sermon from the UUCCV archives and read it during the worship service. She was one of the influential people who encouraged us to use of the hymn “Spirit of Life” almost every Sunday. She will also be remembered as the recent voice of public radio on Sunday mornings, as well as a dedicated member of the Hickory Choral Society. Rev. Deborah McEachran of First Presbyterian Church will assist Rev. Bob in leading the service.
UUCCV’s Annual Baseball Night is Friday, July 9 For more than a dozen years, UUCCVers have journeyed to L. R. Frans Stadium for a night of fun, seeing our church name in lights and hearing it over the PA system. This year’s game is Friday, July 9, when the Hickory Crawdads meet the Lexington Legends. A special fireworks show will follow the game. Tickets for reserved seats behind the backstop are $5, a $2 discount from the gate price. See Rev. Bob for your tickets and join in this night of cheering and minor league baseball.
